RDG-2Kh Smoke Grenade

The RDG-2Kh hand smoke grenade is a Soviet grenade designed to simulate chemical weapons; it contains an irritant composition and is used for training. The smoke is gray in color.

The RDG-2 series of grenades was developed in the 1970s at the Scientific Research Institute of Applied Chemistry (NIIPrK, Sergiyev Posad, Moscow Oblast), and was adopted by the Soviet Army and the armies of the Warsaw Pact. In addition to the Soviet Union, the RDG-2 grenade was produced in Bulgaria, where a modernized RDG-3 variant with yellow smoke for marking equipment was manufactured.
