KV-11 and KV-11a Primer Caps

The KV-11 primer cap is a Soviet primer cap consisting of a copper cup in which a stab-sensitive composition is pressed and covered with a foil disc. The cup has a reduced thickness in its central section.

The KV-11a primer cap differs from the KV-11 by having a reduced charge of stab-sensitive composition.

They are intended for initiating flash-action detonator caps, igniting black powder charges, and are also used in training-simulation igniters (fuzes).
