The MZU-2 «Verba» mine is designed for laying mines on railways, demolishing various military and industrial structures, as well as for use as booby traps.

The mine is equipped with the following target sensors:

Tilt sensor - functions when the mine is tilted by more than 10° from its horizontal position or when the mine is displaced with an acceleration exceeding 0.05 m/sec;

Vibration sensor - functions when seismic ground vibrations caused by train movement occur. At a train speed within the range of 30-160 km/h, the sensor functions when 35 meters remain to the head of the train; at lower speeds, the sensor functions at a distance of 0 to 35 meters;

Dual tilt sensor - functions when the position of the mine changes by more than 10°, regardless of the initial position of the mine; therefore, the MZU-2 mine is not subject to disarming.

When laying mines on railways and at facilities, the MZU-2 is emplaced according to a principle similar to the MZU, but at a depth of 0.1-0.3 meters.

When used as a booby trap, it is emplaced similarly to railway mining, with concealment using personal belongings and other items, or in a wardrobe or desk drawer, with the tilt sensor activated, and may be detonated by radio signal.

Marking

Standard, applied in black paint on the side surface and includes:

- ВЕРБА - mine code.

- 582-1-75 - manufacturer plant code - lot number - year of manufacture.

- Т - filler code.
